BRITISH COLUMBIA
B.C. is one of the largest provinces in Canada located on the west coast. With Victoria as its Capital. It encompasses some of the most majestic scenery to be encountered any where in Canada.
Vancouver is the largest city in the province with a population of 545,671 and the Greater Vancouver region has a population of over 2.2 million. This region is composed of the cities of Surrey, Richmond, Delta, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Langley, Maple Ridge, Pit Meadows, White Rock, North and West Vancouver, Port Moody plus a number of other smaller cities and municipalities. This are is often referred to as the GVRD, The Greater Vancouver Regional district.
The majority of B.C.'s population is concentrated in the lower mainland/Fraser Valley and in addition to the GVRD includes, Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and Hope.
The major cities in B.C. in addition to Victoria and Vancouver include, Kelowna, Kamloops, Abbotsford, Naniamo and Prince George.
Then Province of British Columbia is probably on of the most ethnically diverse in Canada and includes large representations of Chinese, East Indian/Punjabi, German, French, Filipino, Korean, Spanish and First Nations.
Vancouver and B.C. are truly world class and consistently rank in the top as the worlds best places to live. Vancouver and area will be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. This will again attract world attention just Expo 86 did more than 20 years ago.
