Alberta:
Alberta in located in the prairie region of Canada with a population of 3.3 million. A large part of Alberta's population is concentrated in its four major cities, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge.
Edmonton is the Capital of Alberta with a population of 730, 372 nestled on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River and is the jumping off point to Fort McMurray and the Tar Sands. It is also the industrial center that services the oil patch with numerous refineries and large manufacturing facilities.
Calgary is the oil capital of Canada and is home to more head offices than any other city in Canada. It is located in the rolling foothill of Southern Alberta on the picturesque Bow River. Southern Alberta is also home to the Beef/Ranching industry.
Alberta Beef is known world wide as some the best in the world.
Red Deer is located on the busy Highway 2 corridor connecting Calgary and Edmonton. It is also a service center for the local oil industry.
Lethbridge is the financial and business center for Southern Alberta servicing the Ranching industry, with a large number of cattle feedlots in the vicinity.
With the price of Oil reaching record levels Alberta has experienced a major building and industrial boom for more than 20 years. Fueled by the Mega projects in the Tar Sands. Investment in the Tar Sands is scheduled to exceed 100 Billion over the next ten years.
